Jack’s POV

We walked off the bus and flagged down a cab to drive us the rest of the way to my house on the outskirts of town.

I began thinking if (F/n) would want to stay with me, or if it’s a temporary stay until she finds another place to stay.

What should I ask her? I thought I don’t want her to feel uncomfortable if I just out and said ‘live with me’. I also don’t want her to fell rushed out if I said ‘are you gonna find another place to stay?’ Not that I ever want her to leave…

After some thought I finally spoke up, and wished for the best…

“Oye… (F/n)?” I said.

“Yes, Jacky?” she smiled to me.

“Well… I want you to know you’re welcome to stay with me for as long as you want. That is if you were planning on going to get a place of your own…” I said a little quietly.

“Well… Thank you, very much.” She said.

Your POV

I was expecting this sooner or later, but now that it is out in the open, I had no clue what to say. I didn’t really want to leave him, and I don’t even know where to go if I did… and I didn’t want to take advantage of his hospitality…

*mini time skip*

We pulled up to this small looking house on a hill, surrounded by eucalyptus trees and a river running off to the side down at the base of the hill. It looked cozy, and peaceful.

There was already a car in the driveway.

“Ah, me brotha’s here.” Jack said with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

“Who?” I asked

“Me brotha, Arthur.” He said “I asked him to take care of the place while I was out.”

We stepped out of the car and pay the driver. When we walked up to the house Jack knocked on the front door. Arthur opened it up and greeted us.

“Hello, Jack.” He said with a heavy English accent. He turned to me, “and hello, love.”

“Oye, mind letting me in my house, Artie?” Jack nearly grunted.

He stepped aside never taking his eyes off me. And honestly it was getting creepy…

Once inside Jack turned to set down his things, Arthur tried to start up a chinwag(1) with me.

“Jack didn’t tell me he has such a beautiful girlfriend. What’s your name, love?” he asked.

“(F/n)… and I’m merely a victim of Jack’s kindness and hospitality.” I said with a grin.

“Oh? How so?” he said with a little disappointment in his voice.

“Well I was running away from some crooks(2) and once I met him on the bus, I told him I had nowhere to go. Which was true, but now he offered me to stay here a while.” I smiled.

“Ah, I see…” he responded. “I’m going to go see what Jack’s up to. You can make yourself at home and sit down wherever.”

“Okay.” I said as I sat down on the soft dark brown couch.

Arthur walked into a bedroom, I was assuming Jack’s.

Jack’s POV

Arthur walked in and closed the door behind him and looked at me with stern look of his face.

“Something wrong, Artie?” I asked.

“You took in a girl who you had no idea who she was?” he asked rather suddenly.

“…Yeah… why?” I was confused.

“You know she’s just going to run away, like any other bum on the street. Take some of your valuables and be off on there way.” He said.

“No wait just a damn minute, mate. You don’t know (F/n) like I do.” I said.

“And how well do you know her, hmm?” he asked.

…Sadly enough I didn’t have too much evidence to answer him logically.

“I… like her…” I looked down.

He shook his head.

“Too soft…” he sighed.

“I have to head home now. I’ll see you later, Jack.” He added.

“Yeah… see you later.” I responded.

She wouldn’t do that to me… would she?

:grump: Sabotage...
